What a joke. I especially like the part where they did not even bother to look up Governor Jackson's name or make the point that the Articles of Secession and the formation of the Confederate State of Missouri was concluded in Cassville. It would seem to me that if you are going to provide a web site touting the history of a place, you should at least get the facts right.

Maybe Neoshoforums.com could link up to them and you guys should advertise on there. One thing I did notice about the site they forgot to mention the most famous unethical resident of our county.

The website is much improved and the section claiming Neosho as the Confederate Capital of Missouri has prudently been removed, however, there are still a couple of errors in the history of Camp Crower section. During World War II, the Camp was home to two prison camps. The prison compound on the west side of Crowder, which could be seen from Highway 71, was home to Italian and German prisoners but the prison compound for Japanese troops was placed on the far southeastern side of the Camp. In addition, following the Korean War, the redesignated Fort Crowder was home to a large Detention Barracks for a number of years and major construction was done at the Fort in 1956 and 1957. The Fort did not pass to the public until 1961.
