I've seen several historical photos posted recently - I have quite a few myself and thought I'd share a few. Here's the first, presuming I manage to attach the picture correctly. This is NHS, June 1954....

The first one or two years of operation it was not a high school but instead a junior high (middle) school ( I believe it was sixth and seventh grade). I was there the first year in the sixth grade.

I moved to Neosho in time to start the sixth grade at Intermediate School. At that time (early 70's), it was my understanding that the junior high wing of the high school (south from the school library) was relatively new. In fact, I remember buying some postcards downtown of the high school that pictured a building that ended at the library.
Is that right?
I've also heard that the first NHS class who attended the then new high school all four years was 1960 but I don't know if that's truth or rumour.

That is true Joe. At first the younger grades were put into the new school and then we switched schools. The Junior High went to the old High School downtown and the Senior High was moved to the new school. At that time the designations were switched.

I am sure I do know her Stunnerrr, it was a very small high school. Another topic of conversation at the September meeting.
