Fruit Farms

Back around the turn of the century (1900), several fruit farms were big business in the Neosho area. Some were in the area where Neosho Boulevard now runs and Speakman's Fruit Farm was
around where the Greenwood Hills subdivision is today.

I'm researching this for several projects and wondered if any one had any info or old pictures about the fruit (strawberries, apples, peaches) industry back then or old family stories etc.

A good portion of the land on the east side of Neosho Boulevard, from Hometown Bank to South Street was a vineyard back then Joe.
